چکیده
In this study, the levels of organochlorine (OC) pesticide residues in Lake Parishan have been investigated using water, sediment and fish (Barbus brachycephalus caspius) samples as a case study to find out the extent of pesticide contamination and accumulation in the lake. Six OC pesticides namely DDT, DDE, Lindane, Endosulfan, Heptachlor and Chlordane were analyzed in four sites at four seasons. Water samples were processed using a liquid-liquid extraction technique and gas chromatograph equipped with electron capture detector (GC-ECD). Soxhlet extraction was used for fish and sediment samples followed by clean up and gas chromatograph. DDE was the predominant residue in all the samples analyzed, at the mean concentrations of 0.055 ppb, 9.84 ppb and 4.86 ppb in water, sediment and fish samples, respectively. The lowest levels of OC pesticides were related to Heptachlor and Chlordane which none of them were found in water samples. Pol-e-Abgineh and Midstream sites had the highest and the lowest concentrations of OC pesticides, respectively.

Determination of organochlorine pesticide residues in the raw milk taken from milk collection centers in Urmia in 2020
Background and Objective: Milk is one of the most important components of human food. In recent decades, the continued use of pesticides has led to contamination of soil, water, air and milk and caused public concern in the community. Long-term exposure to pesticide residuals in the food chain can be harmful. Therefore, there is a need to control environmental conditions in order to improve its...

متن کاملAccumulation and distribution of persistent organochlorine pesticides and their contamination of surface water and sediments of the Sabarmati River, India
Pesticides are chemical substances used to control pests in an effort to increase crop production and quality, and food storage. The levels of pesticides in different environmental compartments, such as water, soil, agricultural foods, and products of animal origin, have become a relevant issue. In this study, the levels of pesticide residues in Sabarmati River of Gujarat, India, have been inve...
متن کاملDetermination of organochlorine pesticide residues in honey, applying solid phase extraction with RP-C18 material.
In this study, a new clean up method was developed for the routine multiresidue determination of organochlorine pesticide residues in honey. The analytical procedure requires sample extraction with methanol, followed by a clean up step through a C18 Sep-Pak cartridge. Finally, pesticides are eluted with hexane. The determination of organochlorine pesticide residues was performed by capillary ga...
متن کاملResidue analysis of organochlorine pesticides in water and sediments from Agboyi Creek, Lagos
Microlayer water, mixed layer water, epipellic and benthic sediments were collected from Agboyi Creek, Lagos to analyse organochlorine pesticide residues. Sampling was conducted between December 2008 and September 2009 during the dry and wet seasons to study effects of seasonal variation on the samples. Water samples were subjected to liquid-liquid extraction using dichloromethane, while sedime...
